car boots in

morecambe and lancaster

We would like to say that car boots in Morecambe were the first place they happened but sadly no!

Although legend has it that they didn’t originate too far from the area, with Father Harry Clarke, a Catholic priest from Stockport, introducing the car boot sale to the UK as a charity fundraiser, after seeing a similar event (or trunk fair) in Canada while on holiday there in the early 1970s (wikipedia).

Anyway, car boots are getting every more popular, and we can see this by the increasing number of car boots in Morecambe and Lancaster.

There are lots of car boots in the area, and we offer two of them!
(We think they’re the best in the business but I guess we would
say that wouldn’t we lol!)

These are two boots that we run:

The Big Boot

This car boot is every Saturday from 9am – 2pm (sellers 7.30am) and costs £8 for a car and £12 for a van. It is free for buyers.

It is on a car park in the town centre and so is ideal for those less mobile or with accessibility restrictions. It benefits from an all-day flow of people heading into town and the beach so is great for all you sellers that need a lot of people to your stand!

A6 cAR bOOT

The other boot that we run is the A6 car boot between Carnforth and Milnthorpe.

It is held every Sunday and bank holiday from April until October.
It is £6 for cars and £8/1 for small/large vans and you can set up from 7am if you are selling. It is free for buyers.
